Artists are invited to submit entries for the 2009 Black Swan Prize for Portraiture. $30,000 worth in prizes. The exhibition is open to all Australian artists, portraits must be of a well known / respected Australian in their respective field.
The 2009 City of Perth Black Swan Prize for Portraiture, held in Perth Western Australia, follows in the footsteps of the Archibald Prize, Doug Moran and Shirley Hannan art prizes.
In 2009 the exhibition is open to all Australian artists, enabling entrants to showcase their talents in the ever expanding field of portraiture. Portraits must be of a well known/respected Australian within their respective field, and the subjects must consent to be painted.
In 2009 the Lester Group 1st prize has increased to $25,000, and the special Perrine People's Choice Prize of $5,000 will once again cause great debate amongst visitors to the exhibition. In 2010 the Lester Group Prize will increase to $30,000.
