Abby has had a passion for fashion since she was
very young, studying Design & Textiles and Art at school. This
is also when she began making outfits for herself and friends for
the weekends and school formals.
After working for a few years and traveling, Abby realized
the fashion industry was the industry for her.
In 2003 Abby completed a Diploma in Textiles, Clothing and Footwear
at Ultimo TAFE, in which she graduated with Distinction.
After completing her studies Abby went to work with national surf
/ skate label Volcom Australia.
Abby has designed a range, Lady Checkerboard, which was debuted in
a launch party “Confessions” at the Greenwood Hotel, North
Sydney, where she received publicity in Yen magazine.
In 2006 Abby left Volcom to work on and build her label
Miss Abigail, she had previously sold her garments and designs at Kirribilli
and Glebe markets.
Abby also designs and pattern makes for new and upcoming label YoBo.
Abby works from home making all types of garments. She
has a particular interest in made to measure corsets, and does alterations
and repairs.
Whilst working at home, Abby is also preparing to launch her new exciting
range which will be shown at the FROCK 06 Fashion Parade, put together
by the Northern Beaches Fashion Collective, held in Manly in September.
Abby’s current range being developed will entail
pieces which are very feminine and cute, made from vintage / retro
inspired re-productive fabrics from the 1930’s to 1960’s.
Abby’s designs are for girls and ladies who appreciate clothing
and accessories which standout and are sure to make a statement.
Abby is interested in connecting with retailers and fashion buyers
within the fashion industry.
